ABOUT GOD
We believe in the one living and true God, both holy and loving, eternal, unlimited in power, wisdom, and goodness, the Creator and Preserver of all things. Within this unity there are three persons of one essential nature, power, and eternity - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; John 1:1-2; Colossians 1:16-17; 1 John 5:20)
ABOUT PEOPLE
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. They are the supreme object of God's creation. Although they have tremendous potential for good, they are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." This attitude separates people from God. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:61; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2 )
ABOUT ETERNITY
We are created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; 1 John 2:25 and 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)
ABOUT JESUS CHRIST
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, truly God and truly man. He died on the cross and was buried, to be a sacrifice both for original sin and for all human transgressions, and to reconcile us to God. Christ rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven, and there intercedes for us at the Father's right hand until He returns to judge all humanity at the last day. (Matthew 1:21,23; Mark 10:45; Acts 2:24-31; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 1 Timothy 1:15)
ABOUT SALVATION
Salvation is a gift from God to us. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can we be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Titus 3:5; Romans 5:1)
ABOUT THE SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER
We believe that the believer is secure in Christ as long as he/she walks in obedience and faith. (Philippians 1:6; Philippians 2:12)
ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 1:13 and 5:18)
ABOUT THE SPIRIT-FILLED, SPIRIT-DIRECTED LIFE
We believe, subsequent to being saved, in the Spirit-filled life and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit resulting from the total consecration of the believer to the whole will of God. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; Galatians 5:22-23; Romans 6:11-14; Romans 12:1-2)
ABOUT THE BIBLE
The Bible is God's word to all people. Human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105,160; Proverbs 30:5)
ABOUT THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18)
